A confidential opportunity is available for a mid-level associate with 3–4 years of experience to join a Life Sciences group in Washington, DC. The practice seeks strong experience in intellectual property licensing and technology transactions, along with IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
The Work
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses, with responsibility for advancing agreements through the negotiation process.
- Prepare and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements involving life sciences technologies.
- Work on technology licenses and services agreements, including software-as-a-service arrangements.
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements and other technology transaction documents.
- Conduct intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence in support of corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
- Support technology transfers and a range of licensing matters, applying direct licensing experience across different transaction types.
What You Bring
- Three to four years of relevant legal experience, with a strong focus on licensing.
- Experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
- Knowledge of technology transactions, including joint development, collaboration, or strategic alliance agreements.
- Experience with technology licenses and services agreements, including SaaS, and/or distribution agreements.
- Experience conducting intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions.
- Life sciences industry experience is important; experience in adjacent fields may also be considered, though direct licensing experience is most closely aligned with the role.

Compensation & Benefits
