Position overview

Our client is seeking a mid-level associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its life sciences group in New York City. Mandarin fluency is required, and experience working in Asia is strongly preferred. The practice handles intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, technology transfer, and IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.

The Work

  • Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses, supporting life sciences business and technology needs.
  • Prepare and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements.
  • Handle technology licenses and services agreements, including software-as-a-service agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate distribution agreements involving life sciences products or technology.
  • Conduct intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
  • Support technology transfers through transaction analysis and related IP and technology diligence.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, with a background in intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, or technology transfer.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required.
  • Experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
  • Experience with joint development, collaboration, strategic alliance, technology, services, or distribution agreements.
  • Experience conducting IP and technology transaction due diligence, preferably in support of corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
