Our client is seeking a Mandarin-fluent associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Life Sciences group in Boston. The role focuses on intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, technology transfer, and IP support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena. Experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.
The Work
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses, for life sciences matters.
- Prepare and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements, supporting the commercial and technology objectives of the parties.
- Work on technology licenses and services agreements, including software-as-a-service agreements, and address related IP and technology transaction issues.
- Draft and negotiate distribution agreements in connection with life sciences business and product arrangements.
- Support technology transfers by analyzing and documenting the intellectual property and technology rights involved.
- Conduct intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions, identifying and assessing relevant rights and contractual arrangements.
- Provide IP support on corporate transactions in the life sciences arena, working across licensing and deal-related diligence matters.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of relevant legal experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, or a closely related practice.
- Fluency in Mandarin is required.
- Experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.
- Experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
- Experience with joint development, collaboration, strategic alliance, technology license, services, or distribution agreements.
- Experience performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions or technology transfers.
- Experience supporting corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.

Compensation & Benefits
