Our client is seeking a mid-level associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Life Sciences group in Washington, DC. Mandarin fluency is required, and experience working in Asia is strongly preferred. The practice handles intellectual property licensing, technology transactions, technology transfers, and related support for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
The Work
- Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses, supporting life sciences licensing matters.
- Prepare and negotiate joint development, collaboration, and other strategic alliance agreements.
- Advise on technology licenses and services agreements, including software-as-a-service agreements.
- Handle distribution agreements as part of a varied technology and licensing practice.
- Conduct intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.
- Support technology transfers and related transactional work, applying experience across licensing and other technology transactions.
What You Bring
- Three to five years of relevant associate-level experience.
- Fluency in Mandarin is required.
- Experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.
- Experience with intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and other technology transactions.
- Experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
- Experience with joint development, collaboration, strategic alliance, technology license, services, or distribution agreements.
- Experience performing intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions.
- Background supporting corporate transactions in the life sciences arena.

Compensation & Benefits
The provided compensation estimate is $260,000–$365,000, based on the 2026 Cravath base scale; this is an estimate rather than firm-stated compensation.
