Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to help financial institutions, fintech companies, and other regulated businesses navigate high-stakes government investigations and regulatory scrutiny. This role offers hands-on responsibility across enforcement responses, client counseling, and related proceedings involving federal and state regulators.
The Work
- Represent financial institutions, fintech companies, and other regulated entities in government investigations and enforcement matters involving federal and state agencies.
- Prepare responses to government inquiries, civil investigative demands, subpoenas, and regulatory examinations, and draft submissions and advocacy materials for regulators.
- Conduct internal investigations, develop factual records, and help clients respond strategically to regulatory scrutiny and enforcement exposure.
- Advise clients on regulatory risk across federal and state financial services frameworks, emerging enforcement trends, and practical approaches to risk mitigation.
- Help clients prepare for regulator meetings, investigations, and enforcement negotiations, translating complex regulatory issues into clear strategic guidance.
- Support litigation and enforcement-related proceedings arising from investigations, including discovery, document review, factual investigation, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Work with partners to manage matters and advance key workstreams, taking ownership of substantial components while collaborating across financial services and fintech practices.
What You Bring
- Approximately 5–7 years of legal experience in regulatory enforcement, investigations, or related litigation.
- Experience handling matters involving financial services regulators or government enforcement agencies.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, including the ability to prepare persuasive submissions, advocacy materials, and litigation documents.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters and take ownership of key components of investigations and enforcement responses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the judgment to provide practical advice on complex regulatory issues.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the appropriate state bar, or eligibility to obtain admission.
- Prior government experience is highly valued; law firm experience advising financial institutions, fintech companies, or other regulated entities is preferred.
- Interest in financial services regulation, fintech, and government enforcement trends, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual salary range is $225,000–$330,000, with compensation adjusted based on job-related factors; eligible full-time employees may also qualify for an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
