Position overview

Our client is seeking a Labor & Employment associate with 3–6 years of experience for a Dallas-based transactional and advisory practice. The work sits at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate dealmaking, addressing personnel issues that can affect enterprise value, leadership stability, and post-closing integration.

The Work

  • Support labor and employment diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and private equity investments, identifying workforce-related issues relevant to transaction risk and value.
  • Draft and negotiate executive employment agreements, separation arrangements, and restrictive covenant agreements in connection with transactions and leadership changes.
  • Advise on executive mobility, including the structure and enforceability of non-competition and non-solicitation obligations.
  • Assist with post-transaction workforce integration, executive transitions, and sensitive personnel matters that arise after closing.
  • Work with senior executives and corporate leadership on personnel and governance issues requiring discretion, strategic judgment, and timely advice.
  • Collaborate with corporate deal teams and private equity sponsors on employment issues that affect transaction planning, value, and risk allocation.

What You Bring

  • 3–6 years of experience in labor and employment law, with relevant transactional or advisory experience.
  • Knowledge of employment issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, and private equity investments.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating executive employment, separation, or restrictive covenant agreements.
  • Ability to analyze executive mobility issues, including non-competition and non-solicitation obligations.
  • Strong legal judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to work efficiently on sensitive, time-sensitive matters.
  • Ability to collaborate with corporate deal teams and communicate effectively with clients and senior business leaders.

Why Consider It

This practice offers a distinctive blend of transactional work, strategic employment advice, and crisis management rather than a traditional employment-law docket.

Associates collaborate with corporate deal teams, private equity sponsors, and corporate leadership on matters where workforce and executive issues can influence deal value and post-closing stability.

Compensation & Benefits

The role offers visible contributions in a fast-moving environment, along with competitive salary, hours and merit bonus opportunities, billable-hour credit for pro bono work, excellent benefits, and ongoing career support initiatives.
