Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate or counsel with at least five years of experience to join its Labor & Employment practice in Pittsburgh. The role involves front-line work on complex disputes and sensitive workforce issues for companies, private equity sponsors, and senior executives.

The Work

  • Litigate restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes, including matters that require pursuing or responding to requests for injunctive relief.
  • Advise on executive mobility concerns, including onboarding and departures, and employment issues related to incentive arrangements.
  • Counsel clients on employment compliance, risk management, and sensitive personnel matters, helping them assess and address issues as they arise.
  • Support the employment aspects of M&A and private equity transactions through diligence, post-transaction workforce integration, and ongoing portfolio company support.
  • Assist with internal investigations involving whistleblower concerns or reputational risk.
  • Work directly with partners and clients, joining matters early and taking meaningful responsibility for sensitive, time-sensitive assignments.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Experience handling employment-related litigation, including restrictive covenant or trade secret disputes.
  • Ability to work on disputes involving requests for injunctive relief.
  • Experience advising on executive mobility, including onboarding, departures, or incentive arrangements.
  • Knowledge of employment issues in M&A or private equity matters, including diligence or workforce integration.
  • Experience counseling clients on employment compliance, risk management, or sensitive personnel issues.
  • Experience assisting with internal investigations, including whistleblower or reputational matters, is relevant.
  • Strong strategic judgment, discretion, precision, and ability to deliver under pressure.
