Our client is seeking a mid-level Labor & Employment Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join its Los Angeles team. The practice represents employers in complex litigation, labor relations matters, and workplace counseling, with opportunities to work closely with partners and take meaningful responsibility for matters.
The Work
- Assist in defending wage-and-hour class actions and PAGA representative proceedings, including managing discovery, interviewing witnesses, and briefing class certification issues.
- Handle substantial components of single-plaintiff employment cases in state and federal court and arbitration, including discovery, depositions, and dispositive motion practice.
- Take and defend depositions and develop factual records in employment disputes involving claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower allegations.
- Represent employers in administrative hearings and proceedings, respond to EEOC and CRD charges, and prepare responses to demand letters.
- Work with partners and senior attorneys on litigation strategy while assuming increasing ownership of cases and communicating directly with clients.
- Contribute to matters involving workplace policies, compliance, and employee relations, as well as labor relations issues such as union activity, bargaining, and grievances.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
- Experience representing employers in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff matters and wage-and-hour disputes.
- Familiarity with class actions and PAGA representative actions, including discovery and class certification issues.
- Strong deposition, discovery, legal research, and motion-drafting capabilities.
- Experience handling employment matters in state or federal court, arbitration, or administrative proceedings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners and colleagues, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assigned matters.
- Clear written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact directly with clients.

Compensation & Benefits
