Our client is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel with 3–6 years of experience to join its Los Angeles team. This employer-side practice handles a broad range of employment litigation, wage-and-hour class and representative actions, labor relations matters, and strategic client counseling.
The Work
- Independently manage single-plaintiff employment cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, mediations, and trial or arbitration, with minimal partner supervision.
- Help lead the defense of wage-and-hour class actions and PAGA representative matters by shaping discovery strategy, conducting witness interviews, and briefing class certification and decertification issues.
- Represent employers in administrative hearings and proceedings, respond to EEOC and CRD charges, and prepare responses to demand letters.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients on active matters, providing practical advice on litigation risk, case strategy, and resolution.
- Work with partners on complex, high-exposure employment matters and contribute to client relationships and practice-group business development.
- Mentor and supervise junior associates, including guiding legal research, brief writing, deposition preparation, and professional development.
- Advise employers across industries that include manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, education, retail, hospitality, insurance, natural resources, and professional services.
What You Bring
- 3–6 years of relevant labor and employment experience.
- Experience defending single-plaintiff employment litigation and managing matters through key litigation stages.
- Knowledge of wage-and-hour class actions, FLSA collective claims, and PAGA representative actions.
- Ability to develop and execute discovery strategy, conduct depositions and witness interviews, and prepare dispositive and class-certification briefing.
- Experience handling employment-related administrative proceedings, agency charges, or demand letters.
- Strong client communication and counseling skills, including the ability to provide practical guidance on litigation risk and resolution.
- Ability to exercise sound litigation judgment, collaborate with partners, and manage matters with substantial individual ownership.
- Interest or experience in mentoring junior attorneys and contributing to client development.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $310,000–$450,000, with eligibility for productivity and merit bonus opportunities, excellent benefits, and billable-hours credit for pro bono work.
