Position overview

Our client is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its employer-side team in Irvine, California. The practice is primarily focused on litigation, with additional work advising employers and conducting employment-related investigations. The search is for attorneys with 5–9 years of experience.

The Work

  • Represent employers in labor and employment litigation, with a focus on class and representative actions.
  • Work on wage-and-hour class and representative matters, addressing employment claims brought on behalf of groups of employees.
  • Handle discrimination class and representative litigation as part of a broader employer-side disputes practice.
  • Contribute to employment advice and counseling matters for employer clients.
  • Participate in workplace investigations alongside the team’s litigation and advisory work.

What You Bring

  • 5–9 years of labor and employment experience; the search is focused on law school classes 2017 through 2021.
  • At least three years of employment practice experience at a peer law firm is likely to provide relevant preparation.
  • Experience representing employers in employment litigation.
  • Familiarity with wage-and-hour and discrimination claims, including class or representative matters.
  • Class action experience is helpful.
  • Ability to contribute to employment advice and investigations work.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated annual compensation range is $310,000–$435,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations, and the benefits package includes health care, retirement benefits, paid sick and vacation time, parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary performance-based bonuses.
