Position overview

Our client is expanding its Emerging Companies and Venture Capital group in Los Angeles. The practice advises innovative businesses across their lifecycle—from formation and financing to mergers and acquisitions—and represents the funds that invest in them, with clients ranging from newly formed startups to multibillion-dollar technology market leaders.

The Work

  • Support business formation matters for innovative companies at the outset of their lifecycle.
  • Work on financing transactions for companies at different stages, from newly formed startups to established technology businesses.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions for clients in the technology sector and other innovative businesses represented by the practice.
  • Contribute to work for funds that invest in emerging and established companies, gaining perspective across both investor and company-side matters.
  • Collaborate with experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters handled at a national level.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of relevant experience; the search is targeting associates with approximately 2–4 years of experience.
  • Experience at a comparable law firm is preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge relevant to emerging companies, venture capital, company formation, financing transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Stellar academic credentials and strong references.
  • Quantitative and Excel skills are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, with a stated salary range of $235,000–$260,000, and benefits including 401(k), medical, dental and vision insurance, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family care benefits.
