Our client is seeking a midlevel to senior associate to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group in San Francisco. The position focuses on complex patent disputes involving technologies such as electronic devices, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and mechanical devices, with opportunities to work across federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
The Work
- Analyze patents and prepare infringement and invalidity contentions in complex patent disputes.
- Help develop case strategy and work with technical experts to evaluate patent and technology issues.
- Draft briefs and other substantive filings, and manage discovery as matters progress.
- Prepare witnesses and take and defend depositions, with opportunities to contribute to hearings and trial preparation.
- Represent clients in patent matters in federal district courts, before the International Trade Commission, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
- Work directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across the firm, including on matters that coordinate litigation and administrative proceedings.
What You Bring
- Approximately four or more years of patent litigation experience; the role is intended for a midlevel or senior associate.
- A degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
- Experience with federal district court patent litigation.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage substantial responsibilities on complex matters and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- PTAB or International Trade Commission experience is a plus.
- Must be currently licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in California.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $310,000–$435,000, commensurate with experience, and the position is eligible for an hours-based bonus.
