Our client is seeking a midlevel to senior patent litigation associate to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in Washington, DC. The associate will work on complex disputes involving products and technologies including electronic devices, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and mechanical devices.
The Work
- Analyze patents and develop infringement and invalidity contentions in complex patent disputes.
- Contribute to case strategy and work with technical experts to assess patent issues and build the factual and technical record.
- Draft briefs and other substantive filings, manage discovery, and help prepare witnesses for litigation proceedings.
- Take and defend depositions, with opportunities to contribute to hearings and trial preparation.
- Represent clients in patent matters in federal district courts, before the International Trade Commission, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
- Work on matters where district court litigation and ITC actions are coordinated with PTAB proceedings, while collaborating with clients and colleagues across the firm.
What You Bring
- Approximately four or more years of patent litigation experience; candidates in the midlevel to senior range are encouraged to apply.
- A degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
- Experience with patent litigation in federal district court.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage substantial responsibilities on complex matters and work effectively as part of a team.
- PTAB or International Trade Commission experience is a plus.
- Currently licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the jurisdiction of application.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $310,000 to $435,000, commensurate with experience, and the position is eligible for an hours-based bonus.
