Position overview

Our client is seeking a mid-to-senior-level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join its Seattle practice. The opportunity is suited to an attorney with at least four years of substantive IP litigation experience, particularly in federal district court and/or International Trade Commission proceedings.

The Work

  • Contribute to litigation matters involving the enforcement and defense of clients’ intellectual property rights, applying strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Work on federal district court and/or ITC proceedings, with substantive responsibility appropriate to your experience and the ability to approach assignments independently and creatively.
  • Handle issues across the intellectual property lifecycle, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity, trade secrets, and related matters.
  • Support matters involving life sciences, consumer goods, and high technology, bringing technical knowledge and careful legal analysis to industry-specific disputes.
  • Collaborate with attorneys who bring trial and appellate experience and strategic approaches to IP disputes.
  • Contribute to client matters for organizations with a global reach through a practice group serving clients on important intellectual property assets.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of substantive intellectual property litigation experience.
  • Experience in federal district court proceedings and/or International Trade Commission proceedings is particularly relevant.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Programming, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Currently licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Washington.
