Position overview

Our client is seeking an attorney with 4–8 years of experience, including at least four years in insurance coverage, to join its Insurance Recovery practice in Portland. The attorney will help policyholders secure defense and indemnity coverage for third-party liability claims and work directly with insurance company adjusters and underlying defense counsel.

The Work

  • Help policyholders pursue defense and indemnity coverage for third-party liability claims, contributing directly to efforts to secure coverage.
  • Work with insurance company adjusters and underlying defense counsel to address coverage issues and advance policyholders’ interests.
  • Support matters involving almost every type of commercial insurance policy, across a wide spectrum of losses and liabilities.
  • Contribute to a busy and varied caseload that includes significant policyholder coverage matters handled by the practice.
  • Help enforce policyholders’ rights to coverage in matters that may involve some of the largest policyholder cases in the nation.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of experience in insurance coverage; the position is intended for attorneys with approximately 4–8 years of experience.
  • Experience with insurance coverage and policyholder-side recovery work.
  • Ability to assist in securing defense and indemnity coverage for third-party liability claims.
  • Ability to work directly with insurance company adjusters and underlying defense counsel.
  • Experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or a policyholder boutique is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
