Our client is seeking a midlevel attorney with 4–8 years of experience to join its Insurance Recovery practice in New York City. The practice represents policyholders seeking coverage under commercial insurance policies and handles a varied caseload involving defense and indemnity for third-party liability claims.
The Work
- Work to secure defense and indemnity coverage for policyholders facing third-party liability claims.
- Communicate directly with insurance company adjusters to advance coverage positions and pursue available insurance recovery.
- Coordinate with underlying defense counsel on claims where insurance coverage is sought.
- Assist in enforcing policyholders’ rights under a wide range of commercial insurance policies.
- Contribute to a busy, varied caseload involving a broad spectrum of losses and liabilities, including substantial policyholder matters.
- Help develop and pursue coverage positions on significant claims and cases within a collaborative Insurance Recovery team.
What You Bring
- At least four years of experience in insurance coverage; the anticipated experience range is 4–8 years.
- Experience representing policyholders in insurance recovery or coverage matters is relevant to the practice.
- Experience at an AmLaw 200 firm or a policyholder boutique is preferred.
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and policyholders’ rights to defense and indemnity.
- Ability to work directly with insurance company adjusters and underlying defense counsel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for advancing coverage positions and coordinating with counsel and claims professionals.
