Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of finance experience to join its growing Banking & Private Credit team in Houston. The practice advises borrowers, sponsors, arrangers and bank lenders, and direct lenders across syndicated and private credit markets.

The Work

  • Contribute to acquisition and leveraged finance matters for borrowers, sponsors, arrangers and bank lenders, supporting work across transaction structuring and execution.
  • Work on broadly syndicated loan transactions, including financings for borrowers and investment banks navigating complex lending structures.
  • Support private credit transactions for lenders, funds, credit platforms, investment managers and borrowers, across middle-market and large-cap matters.
  • Assist with a range of private credit structures, including first- and second-lien loans, unitranche loans, mezzanine loans, asset-based loans and FILO loans.
  • Engage with financing matters involving multi-tiered capital structures, including subordination, security, intercreditor issues, restructurings and equity co-investments.
  • Work across a practice that collaborates with the broader global private capital platform on client financing objectives.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of experience in general finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, private credit, or a combination of these areas.
  • Experience with financing transactions involving borrowers, sponsors, arrangers or bank lenders, and/or direct lenders.
  • Knowledge of syndicated lending and/or private credit markets.
  • Familiarity with acquisition and leveraged financings.
  • Experience with private credit products such as unitranche, first- or second-lien, mezzanine or asset-based loans is relevant.
  • Energy and infrastructure experience is preferred.
