A Washington, D.C. tax practice is seeking an associate with strong transactional tax experience to advise developers and investors in renewable energy transactions. The opportunity focuses on tax equity investments and the federal tax incentives that support renewable energy projects. Candidates for Houston may also be considered.
The Work
- Advise developers and investors on the tax aspects of renewable energy transactions, applying transactional tax knowledge to deal structures and client objectives.
- Work on tax equity investments, addressing the tax considerations relevant to investor participation in renewable energy projects.
- Analyze whether transactions and projects qualify for U.S. federal tax credits and other related tax benefits.
- Support clients as they navigate tax issues across renewable energy investments, coordinating tax analysis with the commercial goals of a transaction.
What You Bring
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience, corresponding to class years 2021–2024, with strong transactional tax experience.
- Experience advising developers and investors in renewable energy transactions is preferred.
- Experience with tax equity investments and renewable energy tax matters is highly relevant.
- Knowledge of requirements for qualifying for U.S. federal tax credits and related benefits is preferred.
- A high level of academic achievement is preferred.
- Experience in a comparable tax practice is preferred.
- Admission to practice in Washington, D.C. is required for the Washington location; Texas admission applies for candidates considered for Houston.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual base salary range is $235,000–$365,000, and the role may be eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
