Help shape privacy and data provisions in live mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and commercial and strategic transactions. You will work alongside corporate and transactional teams advising companies in fast-moving technology sectors, bringing practical judgment to deal issues involving data and evolving regulation.
The Work
- Advise on privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions.
- Draft and shape data-related provisions in transaction documents, helping teams address how data moves, who controls it, and what happens when issues arise.
- Identify and assess privacy and cybersecurity risks in live deals, and translate evolving regulatory questions into clear, actionable guidance for deal teams and clients.
- Work alongside corporate and transactional teams on matters involving companies in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
- Bring a practical, deal-focused perspective to data questions that can affect transaction terms and strategic decisions.
What You Bring
- One to three years of legal experience with meaningful transactional exposure.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, or technology transactions.
- Knowledge of privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues relevant to transactions.
- Strong judgment in assessing how privacy issues may affect a live deal and communicating practical guidance.
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Regulatory policy or enforcement experience, or a CIPP certification, is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000 based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses potentially available.
