Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least four years of law firm experience to advise healthcare providers, digital health and technology companies, and other organizations on the regulatory, privacy, and AI issues shaping healthcare innovation. The position is based in San Francisco and combines counseling with transactional work.

The Work

  • Counsel healthcare providers, digital health and technology companies, and other organizations on complex healthcare regulatory and data protection questions.
  • Advise clients on compliance frameworks including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and evolving laws governing artificial intelligence.
  • Address healthcare fraud and abuse requirements, including the Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute, in the context of client operations and business plans.
  • Support data protection and AI-related counseling and transactions, coordinating advice across relevant legal and regulatory considerations.
  • Take an active role in managing multiple projects and deadlines, communicating with clients, and driving matters forward with minimal supervision.

What You Bring

  • At least four years of relevant legal experience, including law firm experience.
  • Experience advising companies operating in the digital health space.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, data protection, and AI-related legal issues.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and evolving AI laws.
  • Experience with healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including Stark and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and lead work proactively.
  • A record of high academic achievement.
