Our client is seeking an associate with at least four years of experience to advise digital health businesses and healthcare organizations on privacy, artificial intelligence, and healthcare regulation in Chicago. The position combines sophisticated counseling with transactional work for clients navigating fast-changing legal requirements.
The Work
- Counsel healthcare providers, digital health and technology companies, and other organizations on complex healthcare regulatory and data protection requirements.
- Advise clients on privacy obligations under HIPAA and CCPA/CPRA, and assess the impact of evolving AI laws on digital health operations and products.
- Provide guidance on healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including Stark and anti-kickback requirements, as clients develop and operate healthcare offerings.
- Support transactions involving healthcare and life sciences clients, bringing data protection, AI, and healthcare regulatory issues into the deal analysis.
- Take an active role in advancing matters with minimal supervision while coordinating multiple projects and deadlines and communicating with clients.
What You Bring
- At least four years of relevant experience advising companies operating in digital health or related healthcare and technology settings.
- Experience counseling healthcare providers, digital health or technology companies, or other organizations on healthcare regulatory matters.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging AI laws, with experience applying those frameworks to client needs.
- Familiarity with healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including Stark and anti-kickback requirements.
- Experience with data protection and AI counseling and transactions.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing projects and deadlines and proactively drive matters forward with limited supervision.
- Law firm experience and a record of high academic achievement.
