Our client’s data, privacy, and cybersecurity group works alongside corporate and transactional teams to resolve the data questions increasingly shaping acquisitions, public offerings, and strategic commercial deals. The practice advises companies in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech, integrating privacy and cybersecurity judgment into transactions as they unfold.
The Work
- Advise on privacy, data-processing, and cybersecurity issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other commercial and strategic transactions.
- Work alongside corporate and transactional teams to identify how data-related issues affect deal terms, structure, and execution.
- Shape contractual provisions addressing data use, processing, control, and related privacy considerations in transaction documents.
- Identify and assess data risks in live deals, including issues shaped by fast-moving regulatory developments.
- Translate privacy and cybersecurity questions into clear, practical guidance for deal teams and clients.
- Support transactions involving companies developing or operating in artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software, and fintech.
What You Bring
- One to three years of legal experience, with meaningful exposure to transactional work.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, or technology transactions.
- Working knowledge of privacy, data-processing, or cybersecurity issues relevant to transactions.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and assess how a privacy issue may affect a live deal.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to provide clear guidance to clients and deal teams.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
- Regulatory policy or enforcement experience is a plus.
- CIPP certification is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000, based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
