Position overview

Our client is seeking a mid-level or senior associate with 4–7 years of experience to join its ERISA and Executive Compensation practice in Washington, DC. The role involves advising public and private companies on tax and securities law issues connected with equity-based arrangements and other incentive compensation plans.

The Work

  • Advise public and private company clients on tax and securities law considerations related to equity-based compensation arrangements.
  • Work on matters involving the design and implementation of equity-based arrangements and other types of incentive compensation plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on transactions while taking responsibility for defined components of matters independently.
  • Engage with company clients on compensation arrangements and related legal issues as part of the practice team.
  • Contribute to ERISA and employee benefit plan matters when relevant; experience in these areas is a plus.

What You Bring

  • Four to seven years of experience in a relevant legal practice.
  • Experience representing public and private companies on compensation-related matters.
  • Knowledge of tax and securities law issues arising in connection with equity-based arrangements and incentive compensation plans.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage components of transactions independently.
  • Experience with ERISA and employee benefit plans is a plus.
