Our client is seeking a 3rd- to 7th-year transactional associate to help structure and negotiate commercial arrangements for a diverse portfolio of energy projects and customers. This New York City opportunity offers direct client engagement and exposure to an integrated national practice working across innovative technologies, project development, finance, and regulatory matters.
The Work
- Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements, energy service contracts, and other offtake arrangements that support the development and operation of energy projects.
- Advise on framework commercial agreements and joint ventures, adapting deal structures to the needs of sponsors, project counterparties, and energy buyers.
- Take a lead associate role on project and portfolio acquisitions and provide related financing support.
- Work across solar, wind, geothermal, natural gas, battery, and nuclear projects, with opportunities to address differing commercial structures and market requirements.
- Support energy supply arrangements for a range of customers, from utilities procuring large-scale renewables to data centers and commercial and industrial buyers integrating clean energy, storage, or efficiency measures.
- Coordinate regularly with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel, managing matter communications and project workflows.
What You Bring
- Three to seven years of experience as an attorney, with a transactional focus in the energy sector.
- Experience drafting and negotiating project-development contracts, including power purchase agreements, energy service contracts, or other offtake arrangements.
- Ability to work on commercial framework agreements and joint venture transactions.
- Experience with project or portfolio acquisitions and an ability to support related financing matters.
- Interest in developing deep capability in structuring and negotiating energy project offtake transactions.
- Strong communication and project management skills, including the ability to work directly with clients and coordinate with counterparties.
- Familiarity with the commercial considerations of energy technologies, electric markets, customer types, or regulatory requirements is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $260,000–$420,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
