Our client is seeking a 3rd- to 7th-year associate for a sponsor-focused practice working at the intersection of energy innovation, project development, and commercial transactions. The role offers direct involvement in structuring and negotiating agreements that support projects and customers across a changing mix of technologies and electric markets.
The Work
- Craft and negotiate power purchase agreements, energy service contracts, and other offtake arrangements for energy projects and customers.
- Develop framework commercial agreements and negotiate joint venture transactions supporting project development and energy-sector businesses.
- Act as a go-to associate on project and portfolio acquisitions, coordinating transaction work and providing related financing support.
- Work across solar, wind, geothermal, natural gas, battery, and nuclear projects, adapting commercial structures to fit different technologies and markets.
- Support energy supply arrangements for a varied set of offtakers, including utilities, data centers, and commercial and industrial customers.
- Contribute to behind-the-meter transactions integrating clean energy, storage, and energy efficiency measures.
- Work directly with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel as matters progress, helping manage communications and project execution.
What You Bring
- Three to seven years of legal experience, with a transactional focus in the energy sector.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in drafting and negotiating energy project development contracts and offtake arrangements.
- Ability to work on commercial agreements and joint venture transactions.
- Experience with, or the ability to contribute to, project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing support.
- Interest in developing expertise across energy technologies, electric markets, customer types, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and project management skills, including comfort with daily client and counterparty contact.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $260,000-$420,000 based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses possible.
