Our client is seeking a 3rd- to 7th-year associate for a sponsor-focused energy practice handling complex commercial work at the center of power development and changing energy markets. The role offers direct client exposure and matters spanning established technologies and emerging energy solutions.
The Work
- Craft, structure, and negotiate project development and offtake agreements, including power purchase agreements, energy service contracts, and other arrangements for purchasing energy and related services.
- Develop framework commercial agreements and support joint venture transactions for energy-sector clients and project sponsors.
- Serve as a go-to associate on project and portfolio acquisitions, coordinating transaction work and providing related financing support.
- Adapt commercial structures to projects involving solar, wind, geothermal, natural gas, battery, and nuclear technologies.
- Work with a varied customer base that includes utilities purchasing large-scale renewables, data center and hyperscaler buyers, and commercial and industrial customers integrating clean energy, storage, or efficiency measures.
- Collaborate across project development and commercial transactions, project finance and securitization, corporate finance, and energy regulatory work, with frequent direct contact with clients, partners, and opposing counsel.
What You Bring
- Three to seven years of transactional legal experience, with a focus on energy-sector work.
- Experience drafting, structuring, and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally including power purchase agreements, energy service contracts, or other offtake arrangements.
- Ability to work on framework commercial agreements and joint venture transactions.
- Experience or demonstrated capability supporting project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing matters.
- Interest in developing deep expertise in energy project offtake transactions and applying commercial structures across different technologies and electric markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and project management skills, including the ability to manage daily interactions with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $260,000–$420,000 based on year classification; discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
