Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate or counsel with 4–8 years of experience to work on engineering, construction, and commercial procurement matters connected to energy and infrastructure project development in San Francisco. The practice handles complex, emerging projects across a wide range of technologies.

The Work

  • Advise on engineering and construction law matters as part of energy and infrastructure project development.
  • Work with commercial procurement contracts that support the development of energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to projects involving solar PV, standalone battery storage, and combined solar-plus-storage developments.
  • Support matters involving wind, geothermal, nuclear, carbon capture and storage, direct air capture, and carbon removal.
  • Work across developing sectors that include hydrogen, fuel cells, EV charging, transportation fuels, and renewable chemicals.
  • Engage with project work involving data centers, transmission, biomass, and combined heat and power, including complex and first-of-a-kind projects.

What You Bring

  • 4–8 years of experience in engineering and construction law matters.
  • Experience with commercial procurement contracts in energy or infrastructure project development.
  • Knowledge of legal issues arising in engineering, construction, or project contracting.
  • Experience relevant to one or more energy or infrastructure technologies, such as renewables, storage, carbon management, or transmission.
  • Ability to contribute to complex project work in a mission-driven energy and climate practice.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $310,000–$435,000, based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
