Our client is seeking an Austin-based transactional tax lawyer with 1–3 years of law firm experience to join an integrated energy and climate team working across tax equity, transferability, and project finance transactions.
The Work
- Work on transactions involving energy tax credits under Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 45Z, 48, and/or 48E of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Contribute to tax equity and tax credit transferability transactions supporting energy projects and companies.
- Collaborate closely with project finance colleagues, including lawyers providing corporate, debt, and securitization input.
- Engage with a broader practice spanning project development and commercial transactions, project finance and securitization, corporate finance, and energy regulatory work.
- Support work across a varied energy landscape, from nuclear and enhanced geothermal technology companies to independent power producers acquiring and building solar and battery projects.
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of law firm experience in transactional tax work.
- Experience with transactions involving one or more of the energy tax credits identified in the role description.
- Experience with tax equity and/or tax credit transferability transactions is relevant to the position.
- Transactional tax experience is sought; tax generalists with transactional experience who want to specialize may also be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers across project finance, corporate, debt, and securitization matters.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
