Our client’s energy and climate solutions group integrates transactional tax work with project finance, corporate, debt, and securitization capabilities. This Los Angeles opportunity offers exposure to evolving energy technologies and a range of tax-credit transactions.
The Work
- Work on the tax aspects of energy-sector transactions involving federal tax credits, contributing to transaction structuring and execution.
- Participate in tax equity and tax credit transferability transactions involving credits under Internal Revenue Code Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 45Z, 48, and/or 48E.
- Collaborate closely with project finance colleagues and lawyers providing corporate, debt, and securitization input.
- Engage with matters connected to solar and battery projects, including projects developed or acquired by independent power producers.
- Gain exposure to innovative energy technologies, including nuclear and enhanced geothermal, as well as energy supply models supporting large-scale computing and AI.
What You Bring
- One to three years of law firm experience in transactional tax work.
- Experience with transactions involving one or more of the specified federal energy tax credits.
- Familiarity with tax equity and/or tax credit transferability transactions.
- Transactional tax generalists interested in developing an energy-focused practice may also be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers across project finance, corporate, debt, and securitization disciplines.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
