Position overview

Join an integrated energy and climate solutions team working across tax, project finance, and related disciplines on transactions supporting new energy technologies and large-scale power development. This opportunity is for an early-career transactional tax attorney interested in the tax structures behind an evolving energy market.

The Work

  • Work on transactions involving energy tax credits under Internal Revenue Code Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 48, and/or 48E.
  • Contribute to tax equity and tax credit transferability transactions for energy projects and companies.
  • Collaborate closely with project finance lawyers handling corporate, debt, and securitization aspects of matters.
  • Work within a broader practice that includes project development and commercial transactions, corporate finance, and energy regulatory work.
  • Gain exposure to matters involving nuclear and enhanced geothermal technology companies, independent power producers developing or acquiring solar and battery projects, and hyperscalers pursuing energy supply models for AI.

What You Bring

  • One to three years of law firm experience in transactional tax.
  • Experience with transactions involving energy tax credits under one or more of Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 48, and/or 48E of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Experience with tax equity and/or tax credit transferability transactions is relevant to the role.
  • Tax generalists with transactional experience who are interested in specializing in energy tax may also be considered.
  • Ability to collaborate across tax, corporate, debt, and securitization components of project finance matters.

Compensation & Benefits

The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
