Join an integrated transactional team advising innovative companies across the energy sector, from emerging technologies to large-scale power and storage projects. Based in Wilmington, you will work alongside lawyers handling corporate, debt and securitization aspects of project finance matters.
The Work
- Work on transactions involving federal energy tax credits under Internal Revenue Code Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 45Z, 48 and 48E.
- Contribute to tax equity and tax-credit transferability transactions, applying transactional tax experience to energy project financing.
- Collaborate with corporate, debt and securitization lawyers on the tax dimensions of integrated project finance matters.
- Support matters involving solar photovoltaic and battery projects, including projects being acquired or developed by independent power producers.
- Work in a practice serving companies developing nuclear and enhanced geothermal technologies, as well as large technology companies pursuing energy supply arrangements and regulatory models.
- Engage with a broader energy practice spanning project development and commercial transactions, project finance and securitization, corporate finance, and energy regulatory work.
What You Bring
- One to three years of law firm experience in transactional tax work.
- Experience with transactions involving energy tax credits, including one or more of Sections 45, 45X, 45Y, 45Z, 48 or 48E.
- Experience with tax equity and/or tax-credit transferability transactions is valued.
- Transactional tax generalists interested in specializing in energy tax matters will also be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lawyers across corporate, debt and securitization disciplines on project finance matters.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $225,000–$260,000, based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
