Our client is seeking an associate with 2–5 years of experience to join a collaborative Employment & Trade Secret practice in Palo Alto. The team handles a broad mix of management-side litigation and counseling for clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies in technology, life sciences, green energy, and cleantech.
The Work
- Litigate management-side employment matters involving disputes across the employment relationship, contributing to significant cases and preparing briefs and other litigation materials.
- Conduct internal investigations and advise clients on sensitive workplace matters, including high-profile sexual harassment and discrimination issues.
- Counsel fast-growing companies on day-to-day employment questions, including terminations, leaves of absence, and the review and drafting of employment policies.
- Handle employment mobility issues, including trade secret misappropriation claims, non-compete covenants, employee non-solicitation restrictions, and related contract disputes.
- Advise on employment-related issues in mergers and acquisitions, spin-outs, and other corporate transactions.
- Work with clients in technology, life sciences, green energy, and cleantech, with opportunities to engage across a varied and collaborative practice.
What You Bring
- 2–5 years of experience in management-side employment law litigation and counseling.
- Considerable experience litigating employment law cases.
- Experience advising companies on day-to-day employment matters, including terminations, leaves, and workplace policies.
- Knowledge of employment mobility issues, including trade secrets, non-competes, and employee non-solicitation.
- Experience advising on employment issues arising in mergers and acquisitions or other corporate transactions is preferred.
- Membership in the California Bar is preferred.
- Excellent academic credentials and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $235,000–$365,000 based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses potentially available.
