Our client is seeking a midlevel associate with at least two years of Emerging Companies and Venture Capital experience to join its expanding Seattle practice. The group represents innovative companies throughout their lifecycle and the funds that invest in them, on sophisticated matters across the venture capital industry.
The Work
- Advise emerging and established companies on business formation and legal matters as they build and grow their businesses.
- Work on venture capital financing transactions, supporting clients and investors through significant stages of company development.
- Assist with mergers and acquisitions involving innovative companies, including technology businesses at different stages of growth.
- Represent a varied client base ranging from newly formed startups to multi-billion-dollar technology market leaders.
- Support funds that invest in emerging and innovative companies across the venture capital ecosystem.
- Manage internal and external client and counsel relationships while collaborating closely with experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters.
What You Bring
- At least two years of experience in emerging companies and venture capital matters; experience at a comparable law firm is preferred.
- Experience with company formation, venture capital financings, and mergers and acquisitions for companies or investment funds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing or transaction counsel.
- Quantitative skills and proficiency with Excel.
- Ability to manage internal and external client and counsel relationships effectively.
- Strong academic credentials and professional references.

Compensation & Benefits
Stated annual compensation is $235,000–$365,000, depending on qualifications and experience; the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k), medical, dental and vision insurance, personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family care benefits.
