Our client is seeking a 5–7 year associate for its New York City private equity transactions practice. The team advises private equity firms and portfolio companies across the investment lifecycle, combining transactional work with strategic counsel and a proactive, relationship-oriented approach.
The Work
- Work on acquisition transactions for private equity clients and portfolio companies, helping move deals forward from execution through closing.
- Advise on M&A and financing matters spanning the investment lifecycle and different positions in the capital stack.
- Provide day-to-day strategic counsel to clients alongside transaction work, addressing needs across their investments.
- Contribute to client development by proactively identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and connecting clients with investors and other contacts across the platform’s network.
- Gain exposure to a broad range of industries, including a particular concentration in healthcare private equity and independent sponsor work.
What You Bring
- Five to seven years of legal experience, with substantial acquisitions experience.
- Experience supporting or leading private equity acquisition transactions.
- Knowledge of M&A transactions and private equity deal work.
- Ability to contribute to financing matters and advise on issues across the investment lifecycle.
- Strong client-service and relationship-building capabilities, with an interest in identifying opportunities and helping drive transactions.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $365,000–$415,000, with hours- and merit-based bonus opportunities, excellent benefits, billable-hours credit for pro bono work, and ongoing initiatives supporting lawyers’ careers.
