Our client is seeking a Chicago-based associate with 3–6 years of experience to advise fund sponsors and investors on sophisticated domestic and international fund matters, including significant secondary transactions on both sides of the market.
The Work
- Advise sponsors on the formation and operation of domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
- Represent investors in fund matters, including investments in private funds and related structuring and operational work.
- Work on secondary transactions for both sponsors and investors, contributing experience in a key area of the practice.
- Assist with structuring separately managed accounts and carry vehicles where relevant to client needs.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of directly applicable legal experience advising on investment funds.
- Experience with the formation and operation of domestic and international private funds, including private equity, real estate, venture capital, or hedge funds.
- Significant experience representing clients in secondary transactions, preferably on both sponsor and investor sides.
- Experience structuring separately managed accounts or carry vehicles is a plus.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the state where the position is based.
- Strong academic background, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Direct and applicable experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm is preferred.
