Our client is seeking a 3–6 year associate to help innovative companies navigate consequential privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and AI regulatory challenges. The role offers a broad mix of investigations, global counseling, breach response, and compliance work, with opportunities in Palo Alto, Washington, D.C., New York, or San Francisco.
The Work
- Represent companies in high-stakes investigations brought by the FTC and state Attorneys General involving privacy, data security, and related regulatory issues.
- Counsel clients on practical approaches to collecting, using, and sharing data while complying with complex privacy laws across global jurisdictions.
- Advise on business and legal responses to security breaches, helping clients develop thoughtful and effective strategies.
- Help create, strengthen, and audit privacy and cybersecurity policies and programs tailored to client operations.
- Develop and implement global compliance programs addressing data, privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and AI regulatory requirements.
- Advise leading and innovative companies around the world on evolving technology regulation and related policy and enforcement matters.
What You Bring
- Three to six years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience addressing data privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, or AI regulatory issues.
- Strong legal analysis and the ability to provide practical guidance on data collection, use, sharing, and compliance.
- Experience with investigations or government regulation involving technology, privacy, or data security is desirable.
- Technology-industry experience, or familiarity with FTC privacy and data-security policy and enforcement, is desirable.
- Superior academic credentials and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Familiarity with computer programming, network technologies, database design, or web technologies is a plus; CIPP certification is also a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $260,000–$390,000 based on year classification, and discretionary merit bonuses may be awarded.
