Our client is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as a dedicated legal partner to institutional investors, guiding a steady flow of alternative-asset transactions and related governance work across asset classes and geographies. This New York City role combines independent matter management with close collaboration across client and legal teams.
The Work
- Provide day-to-day legal support to institutional investor clients on confidentiality agreements, subscription agreements, transfer agreements, KYC/AML processes, investment structuring, and related investment matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate documentation for fund investments, co-investments, and secondary transactions, managing matters from initial review through accurate implementation.
- Coordinate with corporate, tax, and regulatory colleagues and with client legal, finance, tax, compliance, management, and investor relations teams to keep transactions moving and records clear.
- Manage a steady pipeline of recurring matters independently, tracking deliverables and deadlines while maintaining organized records, templates, and workstreams.
- Identify ways to improve forms, develop precedent resources, streamline repeatable workflows, and reduce legal and operational risk.
- Apply practical judgment, strong drafting, and project management skills in a fast-paced asset management environment, while building trusted client relationships.
What You Bring
- At least five years of relevant experience at a law firm, an asset management firm's in-house legal department, or a similar legal environment.
- Substantial experience with transactional and/or asset management matters, including knowledge of fund investment, co-investment, and secondary transaction documentation.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to the bar in the jurisdiction relevant to the New York office.
- Strong drafting and legal analysis skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of matters independently and accurately.
- Excellent organization and project management capabilities, including reliable tracking of deadlines, deliverables, and multiple workstreams.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and cross-functional teams and provide practical, responsive legal support.
- Experience developing or maintaining document templates, playbooks, precedent libraries, or other knowledge management resources.
- Ability to use artificial intelligence tools responsibly and ethically, including protecting confidentiality, verifying outputs, and applying independent legal judgment.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated salary range is $265,000–$350,000, and the position is eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
