Our client is seeking an associate to advise on complex construction and development matters across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This Seattle-based opportunity brings together hands-on contract work and construction disputes, with meaningful responsibility and close collaboration with partners and clients.
The Work
- Draft and negotiate construction and design agreements, including custom contracts and industry-standard AIA, AGC, and DBIA forms, with limited supervision.
- Advise clients on contract terms and risk allocation for commercial and public construction and design projects.
- Manage and support a high volume of construction and design contract transactions, helping clients address project needs at the contracting stage.
- Support dispute resolution and litigation involving construction projects, including public and private claims.
- Work closely with clients and experienced partners on complex construction and development matters across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
What You Bring
- At least three years of experience with construction and design contracts and related litigation.
- Experience in a mid-size or large law firm, or an in-house legal department.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, including the ability to manage construction transactions.
- Working experience with AIA, AGC, and DBIA contract forms.
- Experience supporting or handling construction-related claims or litigation.
- Active bar admission in, and residency within, Washington for a Seattle-based position.
- Strong client-service orientation, responsiveness, and verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under partner supervision and direction.

Compensation & Benefits
The stated annual salary range is $147,000–$325,000, with actual pay based on job-related factors; eligible full-time employees may also have access to benefits and an annual discretionary bonus.
