The Work
- Research legal issues and draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents for state and federal matters.
- Participate in all aspects of discovery, contributing to the development and execution of case strategy.
- Support case management from early matter development through resolution, while helping manage client communications and needs.
- Work on disputes involving oil and gas and the broader energy sector, alongside matters in fiduciary litigation, employment, privacy, antitrust, and securities.
- Contribute to depositions, hearings, and trials as opportunities arise, with prior experience in these settings considered beneficial.
- Collaborate across a cross-functional litigation practice that handles matters spanning multiple areas of law.
What You Bring
- Have 1–5 years of experience and a strong interest in or prior exposure to state or federal litigation practice.
- Demonstrate strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to prepare motions and briefs.
- Be prepared to participate in discovery and contribute to litigation and case-management responsibilities.
- Bring sound client-management skills and an ability to support client matters effectively.
- Experience in one or more areas such as oil and gas, energy, fiduciary litigation, employment, privacy, antitrust, or securities is welcome.
- Deposition, hearing, or trial experience is beneficial; district or appellate court clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
Why Consider It
The practice offers a broad, cross-functional docket rather than limiting associates to a single litigation niche, with exposure to disputes across energy, fiduciary, employment, privacy, antitrust, and securities matters.
