Position overview

Our client is seeking an experienced California-admitted attorney to support ongoing litigation for institutional clients. This remote contract role combines ownership of practical, day-to-day case work with access to established templates, precedent materials, and training resources.

The Work

  • Draft pleadings, motions, written discovery, case-management filings, and related litigation documents with careful attention to detail and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate discovery and case-management obligations, tracking requirements and communicating clearly about upcoming deadlines.
  • Support broader litigation strategy and case execution while collaborating with attorneys and support staff on focused assignments and short deadlines.
  • Provide responsive client service, including communicating with clients about deadlines and helping ensure litigation work advances reliably.
  • Contribute to ongoing institutional-client litigation; experience with tort or product liability matters is useful but not required.

What You Bring

  • At least five years of litigation experience; attorneys with eight or more years of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Active admission to practice law in California and residence within California.
  • Experience in a mid-sized or large law firm and/or working with large institutional clients.
  • Practical experience drafting pleadings, written discovery, motions, case-management filings, and related litigation work product.
  • Strong organization and case-management abilities, including managing multiple matters and competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent legal writing, communication, responsiveness, judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work remotely, support West Coast hours, and average 30–35 hours per week, with flexibility to increase hours as needed.
  • Admission to one or more California federal district courts and tort or product liability experience are preferred.

Why Consider It

This remote engagement offers a reduced-hours schedule averaging 30–35 hours per week and substantive responsibility for ongoing institutional-client matters.

Attorneys can draw on precedent materials, templates, and training resources while working independently and collaboratively.
