Position overview

Our client is seeking a senior associate with 4–8 years of law-firm experience dedicated to transactional tax matters to join its Washington, D.C. tax practice. The team develops practical solutions to complex tax issues for clients across a wide range of industries and transaction types.

The Work

  • Advise clients on tax issues arising in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, helping develop structures and address complex transaction considerations.
  • Work on partnership tax matters and private equity fund formation, advising on tax issues relevant to funds and their investments.
  • Support tax analysis for capital markets transactions and financings, collaborating with colleagues across practices as matters require.
  • Advise a varied client base that includes multinational and domestic corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds, joint ventures, emerging companies, SPACs, and tax-exempt organizations.
  • Contribute to tax advice involving transactions, tax controversies, and general business operations, with a focus on practical, commercial solutions across industries.

What You Bring

  • 4–8 years of law-firm experience dedicated to transactional tax matters.
  • Experience with domestic and cross-border M&A tax matters.
  • Experience with partnership tax matters and private equity fund formation.
  • Exposure to transactional tax issues in capital markets and financings.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues and develop practical, commercially oriented solutions for clients.
  • Experience advising or supporting clients across a range of industries and business structures is relevant to the practice.
