Position overview

Our client is seeking a junior or mid-level associate with 2–4 years of experience to join a growing Transactional Tax practice in Houston. The role focuses on tax-related work in transactions, including significant experience with M&A matters.

The Work

  • Advise on tax issues arising in transactions and contribute to practical, commercially focused solutions for clients.
  • Work on tax-related aspects of M&A transactions, a significant component of the practice’s transactional work.
  • Support transactional tax matters for a varied client base that includes multinational corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds, domestic corporations, and joint ventures.
  • Contribute to matters involving emerging companies, SPACs, and tax-exempt organizations, alongside the group’s broader transactional client work.
  • Collaborate across offices and disciplines with a global tax team on tax questions connected to transactions and general business operations.

What You Bring

  • Two to four years of legal experience, with a minimum of two years in a law firm.
  • Dedicated experience handling tax-related work on transactions.
  • Significant experience with M&A transactions.
  • Ability to analyze tax issues arising in transactional matters and contribute to practical, commercially oriented advice.
  • Experience or interest in working with a range of business clients, including corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds, joint ventures, and emerging companies.
