Position overview

Our client is seeking a junior or mid-level Transactional Tax Associate to join a growing New York City practice. The opportunity calls for at least two years of law-firm experience focused on tax-related transactional work, including significant experience with M&A transactions.

The Work

  • Advise on tax issues arising in transactional matters, developing practical, commercially oriented approaches to complex tax questions.
  • Contribute to tax structuring and analysis for M&A transactions, working with deal teams to address tax considerations as matters progress.
  • Support transactional tax work for a broad client base that includes multinational corporations, financial institutions, private equity funds and domestic corporations.
  • Work on matters involving joint ventures, emerging companies and special purpose acquisition companies, as well as tax-exempt organizations.
  • Collaborate with tax lawyers across offices and disciplines on tax issues connected to transactions and clients’ broader business operations.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of law-firm experience dedicated to tax-related transactional work.
  • Significant experience advising on tax aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Experience appropriate for a junior or mid-level associate role.
  • Ability to analyze complex tax issues and contribute to practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Readiness to work collaboratively across transactional matters, client types and practice teams.
