Our client is seeking an associate to join its growing Private Equity Finance team in New York City. The opportunity is suited to a lawyer with at least one year of borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance experience who is interested in sponsor-related financing work.
The Work
- Advise borrowers on private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions, contributing to matters from structuring through execution.
- Work on sponsor-backed private equity acquisition financings, including leveraged buyouts and related financing arrangements.
- Support syndicated lending transactions and private credit financings across middle-market and large-cap matters.
- Engage with a range of financing structures, including first- and second-lien loans, unitranche loans, mezzanine loans, and asset-based loans.
- Assist with multi-tiered capital structures and related subordination, security, and intercreditor issues.
- Collaborate across a global private capital platform to address transaction needs and help develop financing solutions tailored to client objectives.
What You Bring
- At least one year of borrower-side experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
- Experience with sponsor-side private equity acquisition financings is preferred.
- Relevant experience with private credit or syndicated lending transactions.
- Familiarity with financing structures such as first- and second-lien, unitranche, mezzanine, or asset-based loans.
- Ability to contribute to the analysis, structuring, and execution of complex financing transactions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and other transaction participants.

Compensation & Benefits
