Our client is seeking an associate with at least three years of experience to join a copyright practice advising technology, media, and music clients. The work spans strategic counseling, commercial copyright matters, and litigation involving established and emerging digital technologies.
The Work
- Advise technology and media companies on copyright questions arising from product design and the development of digital services.
- Counsel clients on compliance strategies involving the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other copyright considerations.
- Contribute to rights-clearance strategies, content catalogue development, business-model structuring, and related music and digital-media matters.
- Work on content-license negotiations, including commercially significant licensing arrangements.
- Assist with copyright infringement litigation in federal court, including music-industry disputes and cases involving emerging generative AI technologies.
- Support rate-setting matters before federal agencies and advise on related copyright business and legal issues.
- Engage with clients ranging from startups to leading technology companies on questions requiring both legal analysis and commercial judgment.
What You Bring
- At least three years of legal experience.
- Experience or demonstrated capability relevant to copyright litigation and counseling.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills for complex copyright questions and disputes.
- Ability to contribute to federal litigation, including infringement matters, and to develop effective advocacy strategies.
- Capability to advise on copyright issues affecting technology, media, music, or digital businesses.
- Interest or experience in copyright licensing, rights clearance, or other commercial copyright matters.
