Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience in antitrust litigation and/or merger control to join an expanding Antitrust & Competition practice in Austin. The role is part of an associate class spanning the third through seventh year levels and offers work on significant matters across jurisdictions.
The Work
- Contribute to antitrust litigation and enforcement matters, including private and public damages cases, competitor actions, class actions, and administrative proceedings.
- Support clients facing government investigations and enforcement actions involving allegations such as cartel conduct, price fixing, abuse of dominance, and unfair competition.
- Assist with merger clearance matters, including U.S. Second Requests and Phase II proceedings before the European Commission and EU member-state authorities.
- Develop clear, persuasive written work addressing substantive antitrust issues and the needs of complex matters.
- Work with an integrated team handling competition matters across jurisdictions and contribute to client-facing work in litigation, investigations, or merger control, depending on experience and matter needs.
- Help clients navigate antitrust risks associated with high-stakes transactions and disputes, working alongside practitioners with substantial litigation and merger-clearance experience.
What You Bring
- At least two years of experience in antitrust litigation and/or merger control.
- Substantive knowledge of antitrust law.
- Strong legal writing skills.
- Experience in antitrust litigation, merger control, or both, consistent with the focus of the candidate’s practice.
- Ability to contribute to complex legal matters in a collaborative practice environment.
