Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of financial restructuring experience to join its New York finance team. The practice advises a wide range of stakeholders in domestic and international workouts, restructurings, and in-court bankruptcy proceedings.
The Work
- Contribute to advising corporations, banks, creditors’ committees, hedge funds, sponsors, and other financial institutions in workouts, restructurings, and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Help develop strategies for financially distressed businesses with complex, multi-layered capital structures and competing stakeholder interests.
- Work on both in-court and out-of-court matters, including creditor compromise procedures, security enforcements, and debt rescheduling.
- Support liability management transactions, exchange and tender offers, refinancings, and new-money or distressed financings.
- Assist with debt-to-equity swaps, equity capital raises, and strategic or distressed M&A transactions.
- Contribute to cross-border matters and financial or operational restructurings that may involve negotiations with boards, senior management, creditors, investors, and other stakeholders.
What You Bring
- At least two years of experience in financial restructuring.
- Experience with corporate workouts, restructurings, or in-court bankruptcy proceedings.
- Familiarity with representing or advising financial stakeholders, such as debtors, creditors, committees, investors, sponsors, or financial institutions.
- Exposure to restructuring issues involving complex capital structures and varied stakeholder interests.
- Knowledge of restructuring transactions such as liability management, debt rescheduling, refinancings, or distressed financings.
- Experience with domestic and international restructuring matters is relevant to the practice.
- Ability to contribute to matters involving in-court and out-of-court restructuring strategies.
