Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience to join its Project Development & Finance practice in Washington, D.C. The opportunity is designed for an associate in the 3rd- to 4th-year class, with project development and/or finance experience preferred, particularly at a large national or international firm.
The Work
- Represent project lenders and sponsors in the development, structuring, and execution of project financings across industrial sectors and geographies.
- Work with clients at the outset of matters to identify transaction risks and potential pitfalls, then help develop practical solutions.
- Contribute to the structuring of sponsor-side transactions with financeable terms and conditions designed to support ongoing project value.
- Support lender-side transactions by helping position financings for successful syndication and execution.
- Apply market insight gained from work on both sides of project finance transactions to help move matters toward completion.
- Work on matters involving energy transition considerations and projects with roots in the independent power sector.
- Draw on global resources and regulatory and industry-focused colleagues to identify transaction issues and opportunities.
What You Bring
- At least two years of legal experience.
- Experience with project development and/or project finance is preferred.
- Experience at a large national or international law firm is preferred.
- Ability to assess project transaction risks and help develop commercially practical solutions.
- Familiarity with project finance structuring for lenders, sponsors, or both.
- Interest or experience in project financings involving energy transition or industrial-sector matters.

Compensation & Benefits
The supplied base compensation estimate is approximately $235,000; discretionary bonuses may be available depending on application circumstances and position.
