Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience to join its Project Development & Finance practice in San Diego. The opportunity offers work on complex financings for project lenders and sponsors across industrial sectors and geographies.
The Work
- Assist with project financings from early-stage transaction assessment through execution, helping identify potential pitfalls and develop practical solutions.
- Work on financing structures for project sponsors, considering financeability and terms that support ongoing project value.
- Support lender-side transactions by helping structure financings to provide value and security and position them for successful syndication.
- Contribute to complex project finance matters across industrial sectors and jurisdictions, drawing on the practice’s global resources and industry knowledge.
- Engage with issues involving energy transition and coordinate insights from regulatory and industry-focused colleagues where relevant to a transaction.
- Develop perspective on market terms and execution through work representing parties on both sides of project finance transactions.
What You Bring
- At least two years of legal experience.
- Experience in project development and/or project finance is preferred.
- Experience at a large national or international law firm is preferred.
- Interest in representing project lenders and sponsors in complex financing transactions.
- Ability to assess transaction issues and contribute to practical structuring and execution solutions.
- Strong commercial judgment and interest in industry, regulatory, and energy-transition considerations relevant to project finance.
