Position overview

Our client is seeking an associate with at least two years of experience to join its Project Development & Finance practice in Houston. The team represents project lenders and sponsors in complex financings across industrial sectors and geographies, with a focus on thoughtful structuring and practical transaction execution.

The Work

  • Represent project lenders and sponsors in project finance matters, helping advance transactions from early assessment through execution.
  • Identify potential legal and commercial pitfalls in proposed transactions and work with clients to develop practical solutions.
  • Contribute to financing structures that address sponsor objectives and support lender security and successful syndication.
  • Work on matters across a broad range of industrial sectors and geographies, including energy-transition financing.
  • Draw on the perspective gained from representing parties on both sides of transactions to help find workable paths to deal execution.

What You Bring

  • At least two years of legal experience; the role is intended for a third- to fourth-year associate class.
  • Project development and/or project finance experience is preferred, particularly experience gained at a large national or international firm.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability working on matters involving project lenders, sponsors, or both.
  • Ability to identify transaction issues, assess potential solutions, and contribute to financing structure and execution.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues across industry-focused and global teams.

Compensation & Benefits

The supplied base-salary estimate is approximately $235,000; discretionary bonuses may be available depending on application circumstances and position.
